Beginning Quilting with Dena Harding
If you've ever wanted to learn to make a quilt top or just want to perfect your skills, this is the class for you. In tis three day class, I'll take you from beginning to end with a finished quilt top as your final product.
We will cover all the basic skills from picking coordinating fabrics, how to use a rotary cutter, proper 1/4" piecing, adding borders and lots of tricks, tips and pointers along the way.
Supply List
- Sewing machine in good working order that you are comfortable with and can bring to class.
- 1/4" piecing foot for your machine.
- Rotary cutter and cutting mat.
- 6" x 24" ruler
- 6" x 6" ruler
- Small scissors
- Seam Ripper
- Pins (I like glass head or flower head pins)
- Tape measure
- Fabric Marking pen or pencil that disappears (I like Frixion pens)
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
In our first class we will be talking about color and the use
of lights, mediums and darks. There will be time after the
class to purchase your fabrics.
Some people like to use one of the same fabrics for both
the rails and border or binding, that's fine, but when having
the clerk cut your fabric, please have them cut each piece
separately. We have added extra yardage just in case you
make a cutting mistake later.
