Cut and improve curves without a ruler or template to create the free-form, ribbon-like curves in these placemats. Quilting them in a wave design adds to the sense of movement and flow. Also, learn how to make thes wonderful double-sided napkins with mitered corners - adding interest to any table setting. We willl make one placemat and one napkin in class.
Supplies you will need:
Materials purchased in store the morning before class will qualify for a 10% discount.
Fabric
Makes 4 placemats and 4 napkins. Yardage is based on fabric with a usable width of 42". Instructor recommends non-directional fabric for the binding, the ribbons, the opposite side of the placemats, and the mitered corner fabric of the napkins.
o 2 yds. for one side of placemats and napkins
o 2 yds. for other side of placemats and napkins
o 1 yd for ribbons and binding
o 4 rectangles 18” x 22” of low-loft cotton batting, (Warm N’ Natural is fine)
Construction Supplies:
o Sewing Machine (extra needles and Quarter-inch foot if you use one.)
o Thread to sew with and Thread to quilt with.
o Cutting mat o Rotary cutter with NEW BLADE
o 6” x 24” Acrylic Ruler and 1 ½” x 6 ½” if you have one, helpful.
o Measuring gauge o Marking pen, pencil, or chalk
