In this fun 3 hour class, kids ages 8-13 will learn the basic fundamentals of sewing by making a cute summer tote bag! After completing this class, students will know the difference between the right and wrong side of fabric, how to pin so that they can easily remove pins as they sew, how to secure straight stitches, and how to pivot to sew corners. 

Class Materials

• Sewing machine (some available to borrow if you don't have your own on a first come first serve basis)

• Thread

• Fabric scissors or a rotary cutter

• Ruler

• ⅔  yard of outside fabric 

• ⅔   yard of lining

• Fabric pen or tailor's chalk

• Pins or wonder clips

• Safety pin
