Let’s have fun with those 10” square packages of fabric you’ve possibly been wondering what to do with. In this class we will be using some of those squares along with yardage to create a crib size quilt face. The 8 ¾” blocks are made using a “partial seam technique” which will be fully explained in the class – don’t worry, it is easy!. Will provide information at the end of the second class to make a different size if you wish.
Skill Level: Must have recent machine sewing and quilt making experience at least as a confident beginning level to participate in this class - NOT FOR NEW BEGINNERS.
This is a two-day class:
Saturday, March 16th 10:30am-4:30pm
Saturday, March 23rd 10:30am-4:30pm
Class Fee: $10 to reserve your spot and $95to be paid to the instructor for both class days. Instructor fee of $95 is to be paid on the first day of class.
Supplies you will need for class
Fabric:
o 8 – assorted 10” squares
o 1 ¼ yards Accent Fabric and binding
o ½ yard Setting Triangle Fabric
o 5/8 yard Outer Border Fabric*
o 1 ½ yards Backing Fabric*
*2 1/8 yards if you want the Outer Border and the Backing to be the same fabric
Construction Supplies:
o Sewing thread, 50 wt.
o Extra sewing machine needles, 80/12
o Acrylic Rulers: 6 ½” x 24 ½” (6 x 24), and 3” x 12”
o Rotary cutter with NEW BLADE
o Cutting mat
o Sewing Supplies
o Sewing machine or make arrangements with Village Sewing for a loaner**
o Design Wall – piece of batting approx. 40”x 55”
**Please leave your sewing machine in the car until we are done cutting and ready to start sewing
