Class Fee: $50 ($10 to secure your spot today & $40 instructor fee to be paid the day of class in cash or check)
This is not your typical beginning serger class. I am not going to attempt to teach you everything your serger can do in one class.
This is going to be a series of classes, each one focused on one of the stitches your serger can do so that you can be confident about each stitch.
What you will learn in this class:
What an overlock stitch is, also known as a balanced stitch and how to achieve it on your machine. The different width and length overlock stitches that are available on your machine, introduction to the differential feed, how to change your needles, how to move your cutting blade if available, and to be confident in threading your machine.
Supplies Needed:
- serger, power cords and pedal
- manual that came with your machine
- accessory kit that came with your machine-- I will be going over what each item is used for
- 1/4 yd of cotton fabric (for rice bag)
- 1/4 yard of cotton fabric (for rice cover)
- 4 coordinating spools of serger thread
- 2-3 cups of rice
Your instructor will be Janice Langan. Janice is a certified Palmer/Pletsch sewing and serger instructor with over 30 years of experience. Her goal this coming year is to bring you easy projects that will teach you different sewing skills while having fun and having someone right there to help you.
