Your old jeans just got upgraded. In this class, you'll learn how to transform your denim into something fresh, one-of-a-kind, and totally you.

Here's what you'll learn:

• Cut & reshape, learn how to cut around existing garments to create new silhouettes and styles
• Patchwork, mix patterns, textures, and fabrics to give your denim serious personality
• Scrap magic, you'll learn how to reuse leftover fabric scraps to add detail, texture, and flair

Fashion designer and winner of the 2023 Macy's Upstyling Sustainability Contest, Frumiesha Brown, has turned the art of upcycling into award-winning fashion and is bringing that expertise straight to you.

Supply List

- Denim

        - 1 or 2 pairs of jeans you no longer wear

        - any scrap pieces you have

- Fabric Scraps & Patches

        - assorted fabric scraps in different colors, patterns and textures

        - premade iron on or sew on patches (optional)

        - old shirts, pillowcases, remnants

- Cutting Tools

        - Fabric scissors

        - Seam ripper

        - fabric marking tool

- Sewing Supplies

        - Sewing machine

        - Size 16 or 18 denim needle

        - Strong thread in colors that match or contrast your fabric

        - Straight pins or wonder clips

- Measuring tape/Ruler
